Teacher of Physical Education (girls)

This position is permanent and to commence in September 2025

 Our School is very popular and over-subscribed, serving the town of Tring and the surrounding villages.  It is a mixed comprehensive school with over 1500 students on roll including 330 in the Sixth Form.  We are seeking an outstanding Girls’ Physical Education teacher who is not only dynamic, enthusiastic and ambitious, but also a true team player, ready to collaborate with colleagues and make a real difference in the lives of our students.

Our department is well resourced and offers a wide range of courses including GCSE, A Level and BTEC Sport. We also offer an extensive extra-curricular programme. Commitment to both of these areas is essential. We encourage the positive values of determination and resilience throughout all our key stages and students within our department feel safe and confident to participate and perform. Our curriculum provides students with the opportunity to participate in a wide range of activities and experience different teaching methods in order to develop physically, mentally and emotionally. Competition is a huge part of the sporting environment and life in general and whilst we encourage competition and the competitive spirit we also promote the ideals of fair play and sportsmanship.

Our school boasts excellent sporting facilities which allows us to offer a broad range of activities. These include a gymnasium, a 5 Badminton court sports hall, a 25m swimming pool, an all-weather artificial pitch, 3 netball / tennis courts and extensive grassed playing fields.

The successful applicant will be:

– Qualified to deliver the PE curriculum across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5, along with potential to teach Level 3 BTEC Sport

– A reflective practitioner who is willing to take an active role in the wider life of the school

-A strong team player with a “can do” attitude

-Passionate about the success of students, the department and the school
