Teacher of Chemistry

A fantastic, boys’ grammar school with a co-educational sixth form is looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic Chemistry teacher to join their science department. High standards pervade all aspects of the school’s life, and the students’ interest in and commitment to the Sciences is particularly evident from their enthusiasm and motivation.
The Science Department is an exciting place to be, and the emphasis is very much on a forward-thinking, practical approach to the subject. Each member of the team combines expertise with a clear passion for developing new approaches to teaching and learning. The successful applicant will have drive, energy, enthusiasm, and a sense of humour. We want teachers who love their subject and want to work as part of a team to make our department the very best.
All pupils study triple Science to GCSE level. Each year group progresses towards end of year examinations or mock exams. Students in year 11 achieve a high academic standard; it is our expectation that 100% of students achieve 9-4 GCSE grades. We follow the Edexcel specification.
All 3 Sciences are popular choices at A level and results are outstanding. In any year there are a good number of students who go off to read the Sciences at Oxford, Cambridge and other universities.
There is a boarding house at the school which caters for approximately 70 boys. There is the opportunity to get involved in boarding duties (although this isn’t essential) as well as onsite accommodation for ECTs.
You would be joining a well led and supportive team. The school offers excellent support to ECTs throughout the Induction years and beyond, as well as excellent CPD opportunities for new and experienced teachers.
