Our school is one of the country’s most prestigious Independent Boarding and Day Preparatory Schools for Boys. We are a flourishing school with around 250 boys from 7 to 13 years old, with a five-day week in Year 3 and Year 4 and Saturday School from Year 5, with Flexi Boarding (1st to 4th Form/Years 3 to 6), Weekly, Full Boarding or Day Plus options (5th and 6th Form / Years 7 and 8). We deliver a first-class education, sporting provision and a rich variety of music, drama, arts and extracurricular opportunities in a friendly and supportive working environment. The school is only twenty miles from central London in a beautiful location.
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an able and inspiring Classics graduate to join our successful Classics Department. This part time position requires the ability to teach Latin up to Common Entrance Level 3. In addition, an interest in teaching scholarship classes would be advantageous. There would be an opportunity for suitably qualified applicants to teach Greek Common Entrance and Scholarship.
The successful candidate will:
- have a passion for Classics and be keen to communicate this enthusiasm
- have a strong academic background that would add to the school’s academic culture.
- be equally at home teaching those who find the subject hard and those who work at a level above their age group
- have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work as a part of a team.
An ability to teach a second core subject, ideally English, would be advantageous and the ability to coach sport is desirable. The successful candidate will be committed to supporting this age range pastorally and will be fully involved in boarding life and extra-curricular activities.
