Teacher of Computer Science

This position is full time, permanent and to commence in September 2026

Salary MPS/UPS plus London Fringe Allowance

For September 2026 we are seeking a highly qualified teacher of Computer Science at this 11-18 grammar school with a co-educational Sixth Form. This post offers an exciting opportunity for someone looking to teach motivated and able students in an innovative and high achieving school.

We have 1370 students, of which 450 are in the Sixth Form. In 2024 the school was judged to be Outstanding in a full section 5 inspection in every category. It is regarded as one of the leading grammar schools in the country. As lead in the Teaching School Hub – Buckinghamshire, we provide an exciting range of professional development opportunities.

Computer Science is a growing and thriving area within the school and the team currently consists of one full time subject leader and 2 other staff who make up the remaining teaching hours. Computer Science is part of the Arts and Design faculty, and we strongly push the creative side of coding solutions.

In addition to their main formal qualifications, the school has a timetabled enrichment programme, for which the department supports the Apps for Good national competition. The school also has a Coding Club that runs three lunch times a week. Students are encouraged to follow their own learning journey. There is no limit to what they wish to achieve. The school has two labs with 32 machines in each.

All students are entered at the Higher tier for GCSE and we presently use the AQA GCSE 9-1 Computer Science specification.  At A Level, we teach AQA Computer Science and 15 students took this A Level in 2025, with 87% achieving grades A*-B.

As well as our enviable track record of academic performance, we are equally proud of our focus on character, and our development of young people who will go on and improve their lives and our society with their education. Our core vision, to deliver education of excellence with integrity, is underpinned by values of Aspiration, Kindness and Resilience.

We offer excellent support to ECTs throughout their induction and beyond that there are excellent opportunities for development.
