Teacher of Design Technology – Textiles specialism

Our School is a popular school for students aged 11-18 with approximately 1000 students on roll. We are situated in a highly desirable location in Buckinghamshire in the Aylesbury Vale area with a wide range of available amenities. To complement the surrounding rural location, the school is well placed for commuting to London with an excellent rail service, we are also well served by the M40 which directly links to Oxford.
The Design and Technology Department is vibrant and high achieving. Technology lessons are exciting and varied, offering learners a chance to become independent designers who strive for the highest standards. We enable our students to ‘Aspire and Achieve’ through a wide variety of practical and creative experiences. Design and technology is taught at KS3, 4 and 5, with a carousel operating in KS3 for all students.
Our team consists of 4 teachers and 2 technicians, all of whom are committed to giving our students the best experiences possible in the subject.
We have six classrooms where Food, Textiles, Product Design and Graphics/CAD are taught. Each room is very well-equipped with specialist equipment, including a range of CAD/CAM machines linked to computers, including a Laser Cutter and Sublimation Printer. We have access to laptops for use during lessons; students are encouraged to bring their own devices to support their learning.
