Teacher of Food & Nutrition

To commence in July/September 2022

This position is permanent – MPS + London Fringe Allowance

Our school is a successful and forward-looking co-educational comprehensive school. The school has Academy Trust status and retains numerous quality awards, including Investors in People Gold Award, awarded to less than 1% of the 34,000 organisations that hold IIP, IIP Champion Status and the Customer Service Excellence Award with complete compliance in all areas.

We aim to provide an outstanding, progressive all-round education, supporting our pupils to achieve academically and to develop as people, fully preparing them to meet the challenges of being a young person in the twenty-first century and ready to contribute to the communities in which they live.

We are seeking a passionate and committed Teacher of Food & Nutrition to join our vibrant and friendly faculty.

Our Food & Nutrition syllabus empowers students to enable them to follow a recipe and substitute ingredients and cooking methods as appropriate, demonstrating an understanding of food choices e.g. veganism, allergies and healthy eating.

We want to engage with students to encourage them to understand the environmental factors which affect the inequalities in food distribution on a global scale and give them an understanding of the need to minimise ‘food waste’ starting with their own practise.

Our hope is that through Food and Nutrition, students are provided with a context through which to explore the richness, pleasure and variety that food adds to life.

If you are an inspirational teacher that demands high standards of both yourself and your students, then we would welcome your application. The successful candidate will find their attributes of drive and ambition supported by a school that nurtures and rewards outstanding teaching.

The school provides excellent support to ECTs with a full induction and mentoring programme.  We employ ECTs from the 1st July and pay over the summer holiday period.
