Teacher of Mathematics
To commence September 2022
(The position is permanent)
Salary – MPS plus London Fringe Allowance
An ‘outstanding’ boys’ grammar school with a co-educational sixth form in South Buckinghamshire is looking to appoint a well-qualified teacher of Mathematics from September 2022. The post holder will be expected to teach KS3, 4 and 5.
The school caters for boys aged 11-18 and girls aged 16-18. It is the Teaching School Hub for Buckinghamshire, a High Performing Specialist School, a Leading Edge School and a National Support School. At their last Ofsted Inspection the school was graded as ‘Outstanding’ in every category and they are widely recognised as one of the leading grammar schools in the country.
They follow the AQA Specification for Maths at GCSE and the MEI A Level Mathematics course. At KS3 the students are taught in mixed ability groups and at KS4 they are put into sets with approximately 60 students taking Further Mathematics at GCSE.
Results at GCSE are outstanding, with 95% of GCSE Maths grades being 9-7. Over 300 KS5 students are currently taking A Level Maths and over the last 10 years just under 90% of students have secured grades A*-B placing this school consistently among the top 5% of schools in the country. Almost all their students move on to further study at university level and around 20 students each year are offered places to continue their education at Oxford and Cambridge.
