We are looking for a well-qualified teacher of Music who has the enthusiasm to motivate students in all aspects of music at this 11-18 grammar school for boys with a co-educational Sixth Form. Music, both curricular and co-curricular, plays a very important part in the life of the school and the successful applicant will have the opportunity to contribute to this further, teaching Music across the school.

Our school has 1370 students, of which 450 are in the co-educational Sixth Form. The school has been judged to be Outstanding in a full section 5 inspection under the new Education Inspection Framework. It is regarded as one of the leading grammar schools in the country. As lead in the Teaching School Hub – Buckinghamshire we provide an exciting range of professional development opportunities.

The Music Team is accommodated in a newly built state of the art Music block. Six new practice rooms have been built along with improved storage for resources and instruments, and an upgrading of the soundproofing in and around the building. The end result is a much-improved facility which helps every student achieve their potential in music and follow their interests.

The events calendar in the music department is extremely busy. There is usually a performance of some kind every three weeks. These take place either in school, at the girls High School or in one of the local churches with which the school enjoys a close relationship. The school also produces a major musical every two years.

This post offers an exciting opportunity for an early career teacher or for someone looking to broaden their experience in an innovative and high achieving school. Music is highly valued throughout the school both on a curricular and co-curricular level.

We welcome applications from both experienced and Early Career Teachers and provide an excellent support programme throughout their Induction and beyond.

If you would like more information on this vacancy, please contact Helen Doubler asap via email at helendoubler@appleteachers.com or on 07867654459.  Alternatively, please contact Helen Doubler for an application form.  The school will interview as soon as they receive a strong application.

All applications are subject to satisfactory enhanced DBS, other checks and references.
